Linux System Engineer
Job Description:
As Linux Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for successful integration, build, test and release of Linux Solutions to our Customers and the open source community. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional organization and have the ability to focus on integration, build, release and testing of software components. The candidate should also be skilled in programming and scripting and proactively leverage software skills and experience to resolve technical issues and to improve efficiency through automation.
Responsibilities:
Integrate separate product components forming the solution.
Resolve complex integration problems requiring technical expertise and understanding.
Automate build & packaging activities and other daily tasks
Leverage Linux open source tools and applications to enable software releases
Work with cross functional teams of test, development and program management during all phases of the integration cycle.
Report issues and accurate project status to management
Required skills:
Proven experience in integration. Previous experience with embedded solutions is a plus.
Strong Linux OS background, preferably with open source experience
Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
Strong problem solving skills
Must be organized, good with documentation, good time management
Must have good communications skills (oral and written)
Ability to relocate to Cairo, Egypt
Desired Skills:
Experience with Linux open source tools and methodologies
Experience in object oriented design/architecture is a plus
Experience in embedded development/integration/build roles is a plus
Experience in an organization that uses a well-designed software process.
Capability Maturity Model experience is a plus.
